Privacy Policy

Last updated: September 2026

Bodynia exists to make Sexual & Reproductive Health (SRH) support safely accessible. Privacy isn't a feature, it's the foundation. This policy explains, in plain language, what we collect, what we never collect, and how anonymized data is used to strengthen public health in the Democratic Republic of the Congo.

1. Scope: Sexual & Reproductive Health only

Bodynia is a specialist service covering the Body (anatomy, puberty, periods), Health (prevention, fertility, contraception, pregnancy, access to care) and Sexuality (relationships, consent, pleasure, risk protection). It processes conversations, in text, and optionally in photos of a visible skin or genital symptom when that helps a case, related to Sexual & Reproductive Health: STIs, contraception, pregnancy, and gender-based violence (GBV) support. Bodynia never asks for or accepts intimate or identifying photos. Bodynia is not designed or licensed to handle unrelated general health data, and users should not use it for conditions outside this scope.

1bis. Pharmacies: often the first point of contact

In the DRC, the nearest pharmacy is very often the first and fastest point of contact with care, for emergency contraception, hygiene products, condoms, or a quick treatment, well before a hospital visit. Bodynia's Green-tier guidance frequently orients users to the nearest state-approved pharmacy, at no cost, before any clinical escalation is needed.

2. Anonymity by default

Bodynia does not require your name, phone number, or any government-issued identifier to use the service. Conversations happen through your existing Telegram account under whatever handle you choose to use, including anonymous or pseudonymous ones.

3. What we collect

4. What we never collect

5. Clinic referrals & the Bodynia Ticket

For moderate-risk (Orange) cases, Bodynia issues a unique, cryptographic Bodynia Ticket, valid 72 hours, containing only the information a state-approved partner clinic needs to honor a 10% discount and confirm an SRH referral. Clinics never receive your full conversation history. Bodynia orients users exclusively toward pharmacies, clinics and hospitals registered and approved by the State, to help protect against counterfeit or unregulated medicine.

6. Gender-based violence (GBV) protocol

If a conversation indicates signs of gender-based violence (e.g. rape, assault, forced acts), Bodynia immediately activates the Post-Exposure Prophylaxis (PEP) protocol within the critical 72-hour window, and connects you directly to the DRC's National Green Line. This protocol is designed to protect survivors, not to report them without consent.

6bis. No dangerous self-medication

Bodynia never issues a firm diagnosis or an automatic prescription. Where a medication may be relevant, Bodynia names only the International Nonproprietary Name (INN/DCI) of the molecule (e.g. Levonorgestrel), never a commercial brand, and always states: "Here is the product generally recommended for your situation, but please confirm with your pharmacist or doctor before taking anything."

7. Data retention & security

Conversation data is stored securely and retained only as long as necessary to deliver the service and produce anonymized public-health insights. We apply industry-standard safeguards to prevent unauthorized access.
